I just had a PCIII-usb installed and disconnected the O2 sensor. Everything works fine except for the FI warning light is on.

I thought I had found a way to fool the ECU. If I turn the ignition on and just wait the FI warning comes on after a couple of seconds and stays on. But, if I turn the ignition on and then immediately start the engine, the light is off and no warning! Tried this two times and ran the bike several kms, the light didn't come on. The third time the LED was initially off and then suddenly came on while the engine was running. Hmm......

I guess I have to disable the FI warning after all.

The info on this forum says that pin 23 should be disconnected, right? On my bike that wire is BLACK/WHITE.

I managed to remove the orange plastic cover, but how do I remove the connector? Should I put a pointy object in above or below the connector (as seen as in the picture below)?

Shouldn't it be possible to connect something, a resistor or something, instead of the O2 sensor at the connector down at the right side of the engine, that way fool the ECU not to turn the light on?

OK, the picture shows pin numbers looking into the ECU, so I kind of mirrored it. The cable going into pin 23 is BLACK with WHITE stripe.

I went to my local Suzuki workshop and they told me to remove the orange cover, and then just pull the cable out from behind with a plier. I did that and it came out without any damage to it. Turned the ignition on and there where no FI warning. Fixed!

Thanks for nothing guys!  Grin

Wouldn't this just disable all the FI warning? Or am I wrong?

I was wondering about that too, but the guy at the Suzuki dealer I talked to said that it only disables the O2 sensor warning. I guess it would be possible to verify this by disconnecting other sensors in the FI system.

This is probably a silly question but I keep reading that the 1000's run hotter with the O2 sensor.  I have a bone stock K7 1000 and was wondering if I can disconnect the O2 sensor without having a Power Commander at all?  Was hoping to try every little trick before even getting a PCIII to see how it goes.

You can if you can find it! You don't have one.

Anyway, I doubt that this story is true for the V-Strom.

I think I better study more about the K7.  No O2 sensor, runs bad with the secondaries removed........looks like there are differences between the years that I was not aware of. Maybe I will leave her alone except for a TBS and a 43 tooth rear sprocket and keep it tuned as best I can.

Im still a little stumped though.  If the K7 1K does not have an O2sensor, why do many people in this forum talk about disconecting the O2 sensor on their K7 before installing a PCIII.  I know there must be a simple answer?  Sorry for my ignorance on this. Sad

Most overseas Strom's have the O2 sensor. US & Canadian don't.

One of the UK Stromers has it. Was it Drew?

Logically more interesting for Europe - so far.
