6. Breakfast & Dinners are served at Ironhorse (good stuff). Lunch your on your own unless prior arrangements are made.

Iron Horse is a terrific place to have this event... as most know there are many many roads in and around there for riding....  The owners couldn't be nicer as a matter of fact.
We are located in Charlotte, NC .. only about 4-5 hours of grat riding away from Iron Horse.. depending on how you go of course.
Anyone wanting to come to this great event from a place to far to ride.. like Germany, UK, Italy or Japan... we will have Stroms available for rent if anyone is interested.  Just reserve in plent of time.. it is a busy season for us at that time of year.

I'm thinking.

If I take one more day of vacation for Thursday, and leave early morning, I can be downthere around 4-5 in the afternoon and camp at IronHorse, then
ride with the V-Strommers all Friday. I already comitted to ADVrider gathering going on the same weekend in Tennessee  Beer

...it's her taking a short break nap after 10-hour ride.

These are dirt routes 1, 2 & 3 by my designation. I'll be leading route 1 (on the left) probably on Friday, except the ORV area. Have some good roads getting there and can return by either the Gap or the Cherohoa. Grade this a 3 out of 10 for big trailies.

I may do route 2 (middle) on Saturday. I do it by taking 143 out of Robbinsville, then across the mountain (dirt) on 1115 to Andrews, the Trail of Tears back to Robbinsville. Grade this a 5 out of 10 for bike bikes.

Route 3 is mostly the Winding stairs (steep, gravel & tight switchbacks). The rest of the ride is easy and fairly scenic. Depending on conditions, the Stairs can get a 7 out of 10 & the rest a 2.

Good source of info on the area, most of this stuff we know already but some of this is new to me.

Great job by the Mini group, I found the link on the S-2000 site.

I had a good ride up and back taking the long way, of course.  It was great to meet a few of y'all and put a face with some screen names.  Cheesy

Although my memory is about as clear as this pic. Huh?

The rest of my pics may go in a mini ride report as only a couple of them are from the rally itself.  Hello

Hi folks. It was a pleasure meeting new riders and seeing old ones. All in all the weather was pretty good for riding this year.

Thanks to all who organized the event and a special thanks to everyone who patiently waited for me to claim the Hepco & Becker Saddlebags! I am still trying to wrap my head around winning a $600 set of bags.  Smiley

Wow!!!!

What a great event! I arrived a full day early and had clean and empty roads to ride on Thursday!!!!

Friday was interesting.....and in addition we got wet.

Saturday was a glorious day! Less traffic than expected.

I hope that everyone made it home OK and had as good a time as I did.

Thanks John Weldon for all his help with the many great vendors!!!! More door prizes that you can imagine.

Neutral PLEASE SUPPORT THOSE THAT SUPPORT US BY BUYING SOMETHING FROM THEM!!!!! Neutral Beer
