After 35 days and 10,000 miles, I'm home.

It was so wonderful to meet and ride with Strommers East and West.  Now I have to organize this whole mess of pics and memories into some kind of ride report.  Shocked

AS far as temp is concerned any time after the end of May is ok.
the closer to summer  the odds are for catching warmer weather are better but you get more traffic busy camp sites ect.
July is the warmest month, in this area it cooks.
The coastal ferries get busy in the summer but on a bike you just go to the front any way.

a few gas milage relults after the 3700km trip.

best milage on my 07 650: 45.15 miles /us gallon.
worst :33.6miles/us gallon.

I noticed filling up with the other riders at East gate Nevada my bike had worse milage than most if not all of the 1000's on the ride.
249 km from Ely to East gate my bike drank 3.8 gallons
I think Don had the best milage on his 1000 some where around 3.0 ( he said)

I guess the big bikes run better at the upper end.

B.J....
Happy to hear you made it home safely......and with lots of good memories....I trust.
It was nice talking to you......and we did find the picnic.....I now have a ZUMO so I should be able to find all the picnics.
I asked my brother in Milwaukee if he ever ran into a B.J. at his Harley dealer....nope.
He's not much for talking anyway....
Have a great summer.

Anyone know if Chuck made it home to San Fran OK on his plugged tire?  Haven't heard from him and I am just curious.

One of the great features of silver fork is of course the sceanery and it has the distiction of having the biggest single continuous tar snake in the world, on a hot day it can swallow you and the bike like the La brea tar pits ( this thing is about 20 ft long and 12 ft. wide continous black no cement showing and is a few inches deep, on a hot day your poop is had it if you hit it wrong.

...and... drum roll please

It has been spotted on Google Maps (aerial photo setting):

Meat cult every thursday night , bring a date and dine by the whites of her eye's and there's thousands of seats in the back for the lonely set. Millions of mutants and just plain Joe's from all over the galaxy clump here at Rancho Malaro in Beautiful Pollock Pines , Ca. ( thats nature spelled sideways)

It's a tar snake worthy of our respect. Someday they may have to patch it with some road...  Grin

It looks to me like it is heading away from Pollack Pines, but I wouldn't sleep soundly if I were you Barry. Keep monitoring its movement. Right now it looks like it is after Tex, but being a serpent it could change its mind suddenly...  Tongue

Well the monster is facing north south ( not east west so I'm safe) Gary Schroder ( aka G-Man" & I are going to excavate TARZILLA this early winter we figure there's 60 yrs of swallowed up bikes and riders down there somewhere, we figure there's millions in salvage rights and spare parts. After I get the DR tuned and jetted I'm gonna get up there and take some pictures for the un believers later this weekend.  Stay tuned a discovery channel special may ensue. I was thinking if we could get Paul senior of orange county choppers to ride through there on one of his so called bikes we could get rid of Paul and that dead squirrel on his upper lip too.

Let the non-believers use the mapping software of their own choosing:

N38 43.87 W120 14.39
N 38° 43' 52.20", W 120° 14' 23.40"

Approach with caution from the west. Coordinates are for the tail.
