Laminar & madstad just bring in to many combinations to cover. That would fall under other & a post like you did should cover it.

What do I think will be the most popular??? Givi or Windstrom.

What do I use? Secdem and Madstad - like it that way, too.   Cool

Think I missed one. Isn't there a French shield that starts with a "P"?

I see a need for two more polls. If you use a madstad & what shield you use it with & maybe same for laminar.

OK I'll add that and that's it. If you voted I'll have to change the vote count.

I voted for the MRA because I like the easy adjustability, but the Givi also cut buffeting to practically nothing. No madstad bracket here. They look almost as dorky as the MRA lip. Heh...

After the ride I had the other day with the Givi/Madstad combo I wouldn't care what it looked like.  The thing works!  Well my opinion might not be the best because I think the lip on the MRA actually looks cool.  Cool

MP Cycle Design 19 inch sport touring tinted with Madstad bracket.  I am not shopping for windshields anymore, I'm very happy with this.

Madstad is a good mod, had one in Oz inside 7 days from the States which was impressive.

It didnt allow enough tilt back for my liking, however i added a couple of rubber (fuel hose) spacers under the bottom mounts to tilt the whole thing back a bit more.

Now have a      s m o o t h   airflow Huh?

Cheers aye

ps use stock Suzi screen

I voted Givi.

I can't claim it is the best, but it is good enough that I stopped worrying about it after installing it.

I am one who really didn't have much complaint about the stock screen to begin with.

I rode my KLR last weekend:  THAT has some serious noise and buffeting problems.  The VSTROM is like a fully-domed magic-carpet by comparison.

I realize many riders like the Givi, but I live in windy country and the Givi has way too much wind load on a windy day. It is not very pleasant when you get caught in the wake of an 18 wheeler. I used my Givi a week and then sold it for $50 and never missed it...Also knocks considerable top speed off according to my GPS.

so far for me i've tried the stock, Givi and MRA Vario and the MRA wins hands down, especially with MadStad brackets.  I am ordering a MP Cycle & MadStad combo this week though for my  upcoming cross country trip.

I don't know!

I have not tried them all Tongue

At high speeds 65+ the stock screen sucks some of the time not always.

I use the Plastic Engineering Company of Tulsa shortie shield for spring - fall rides.  It's small, buffeting is gone, and makes the bike look a lot sportier.

I talked to a Cee Bailey's rep some months ago and he told me this was on the way.  He was pretty confident (cocky even) that this is to be "the answer."

we'll see.

someone buy one and tell us how it works!   Huh?

WindStrom Manta with TS ("TS" stands for "Full-width integrated TopSpoiler") and MadStad bracket in the 'up and back' configuration has solved just about all my issues for comfort, ventilation and noise/buffeting reduction.

BTW, my TS, the WindStrom laminar lip dealie, is the old-style bolt-through type.  Fortunately when I replaced my broken WindStrom after an unfortunate V-Strom/Chevrolet interaction in PA, I saved the TS, which was uninjured.  A friend of mine has a shop and the specialized plexiglass drills to make the holes without screwing up the windshield.

I had been riding for over a year with just the Manta and MadStad, and I was pretty happy.  After re-installing the TS, I am now very happy.  Completing the package with the TS is the best combo I've ever had in 5 years of 'Stroming.'

Happy holidays to all my V-Strom friends.

Suzuki (European) "sports" screen.
Hey IB, how come we have to use the "other" selection to vote for the best windscreen? Anyway, if anyone wants my opinion, it works best, looks just ok...

Me too. Works like a charm. But after riding a Honda VFR 800 VTECH, I am sure that the Suzuki original shield leave room for improvement....

The European Short screen is definitely my choice. I was using the madstad and stock screen but the shorty is better. No buffeting at all and awesome in warmer weather. And of course it looks great   Grin
