Hi all I am Capt. Ed from Boise Id. and a group of Strom riders from Boise would like to host the 2011 Rally. The dates I am looking at would be July 15th-18th here in Boise with a meet up in Missoula Mt. on Thursday the 14th for those that would like to ride the LOLO Motorway or the Magruder Corridor on your way to Boise. The reason I am looking at mid July is the fact that some of our great riding will not open till then. We should be able to have a great time for all riders we have great dirt and road riding. I will post over the next few weeks the Hotel and camping arrangements. If you have never ridden the great PNW this will be the best opportunity for you to do so. I will keep you posted and get the list started.
My email is
idelkhunter@gmail.comHey guys--here's some updated info for you. First and foremost, the Rally is July 15th thru 18th. If you come later than the 18th, you will have some good riding but it may be a little lonely.
I have some great rides plotted out and will add GPX files for those that use a GPS.
For those not wishing to stay at the motel, I have some alternate accommodations.
The first is Idahostel. The owner's name is Andrew and he is a Dual Sport rider. He said anyone that books early will get the winter rate instead of the summer rate.
His open bunk rates start at $20.00 a night and go up to $49.00 a night. You can book thru his web site
http://www.idahostel.com/Bookings.htmlFor those wishing to camp, it has been a little harder to come up with some something for you, but one of our local Stromers called to let me know we have a new KOA.
They are in the process of opening a new camping facility on the Boise river near our local Green Belt. The rates are 27.00 per night and they have showers and restrooms on site. You can put TWO tents on each site for some cheap camping at only 13.50 per tent.
The contact for camping will be Boise -Meridian RV Resort, 184 W. Penrod, Meridian ID 83642. Phone number is 208-888-7003. PLEASE let them know you are in town for the V-Strom Rally.
I will have our main hotel lined out by the end of the week and have the contact info up. At the present we are looking between $89.95 - $119.95 per night.
The meals are going to be the same as last year at 25.00 per evening: Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. If booking for all three we will drop it to 65.00 total.
Tee shirts will be available for order at 20.00 per shirt.
Happy Trails is going to be providing some great services for us. We will have a bike recovery team in case any one breaks down in route up to 125 miles out. We will also have the shop open for service in the evenings for tire changes, oil changes and other things that may come up. If you know you are going to be needing new tires, chain or sprockets you can book service time by calling 800-444-8770 ask for Bob or follow the cue to the service line.
