. As for the 'City' bag - yes, it will hold my SLR just fine with a little room for other things too. I'm hoping to stash another hydration bladder in there too. Must.... drink...... water..... Must.... drink...... rum.....

If nothing else, it looks like a nice spot for a different lunch! And hey, straight down baseline? How hard is that?

If anyone is looking for a Parks Canada annual pass, you can buy it direct from their website. If you use promo code MEC2011, you get 10% off ($122.76 instead of $136.40). I'd do this, but with a possible Canada Post strike coming, the delay might mess with me on a trip I have in June (scuba in Jasper!) and I'm too cheap to spend the money for FedEX. SO

Ya Katies Crossing is a great place to ride out to and grab a bite. One of the cars opens up on the side and serves as a stage. My buddy Pete plays guitar out there when they hold special events. Very cool place.

PM me and we'll have a chat. Damn right!!! That place is damn close to Edmonton boys. http://www.katiescrossing.blogspot.com/It's worth the trip just to check it out. I'd go again, in fact I'm home from work today, I just might go this afternoon I've passed that place every time I go to the SPFG gun range. Never stopped in though. I'll have to do that this year for sure! If anyone is looking for a Parks Canada annual pass, you can buy it direct from their website. If you use promo code MEC2011, you get 10% off ($122.76 instead of $136.40). SO Good call on the park pass. I've also seen many on Kijiji. People visit Canada, buy a pass and then sell it for about half. Just a thought. Scuba in Jasper - Lac Beauvert by chance? That's where I got certified back in 1987... wow... long time ago . Certified for Scuba - not certified for white-jacket . Every time I go there I come back with over 200 golf balls. Good times - just don't disturb the silt on the bottom. You'll be blind for 20 minutes.

Good times - just don't disturb the silt on the bottom. You'll be blind for 20 minutes. My present pass runs out this month, time for a new one. I used is snowboarding this winter, staying overnight in the park last year (hotel). Plan to ride the parkway at least once or twice this summer... plus more boarding next year... etc etc. I think it's Lake Annette - by the Jasper Park Lodge. Getting my open water PADI certification. Man, not looking forward to skinning in and out of that 7 mm wetsuit if it's at ALL warm outside! Heck, it was enough 'fun' at Ocean Sports just getting fitted for the bloody thing. But, they tell me, it's better to be a cold water diver who takes vacation to warm water places and can dive both than to be just a warm water diver. Of course, I'll have to start taking vacation to Van Isle just to go diving, once my wife gets her dive ticket later this year as well. All I know is that I totally fell in love with diving after my two dives on the reef off the resort in Montego Bay after Christmas. 5' swell was still pushing us around 40' down, but it was awe.some. Ocean Sports - great folks - Brian, Grant (with the beard), Diana Ungarian, Al Williams. Dived with them all. Who taught your class.
Lac Beauvert is just off the Jasper Park Lodge and Golf course. I did my open water in the middle of June. Water temp was 33F. YUp... someone convinced me to pee in my wetsuit. Sure it was warm for all of 4 seconds. Then of course I had to rinse off. Brrr. Good times.

Hey Snowstrom, my Richland Rick peg lowering kit came today. I think you have installed yours. Any advice? And "not installing on a blue strom" is not advice Ha ha! hey Mardaf, The kit is fairly easy to install - the only tricky bit is the rear brake master cylinder extension part. If doing it again, I would not tighten anything up until I have tested the brake lever position. I optimistically tightened it all, install it then found my brake was too high, so had to disassemble, adjust, re-assemble. Also, I have a Touratech shifter which does not have the stock linkage so was easier for me. All in all an easy job, took about 1 hr. Once installed it's nice - just that slight angle change in the knees feels good. I have my knobbies on now and am off to Reveslstoke for a 4 day FS ride, so the lower pegs will help with steering in mud/gravel. Good luck, SS

So far I've had great experience with Ocean Sports. Instructor was Chris Hall. I didn't take the whole course, as I already had the first three modules done from my trip to Jamaica. That being said, I'm going to do all of the lake training dives (including re-doing the first OW dives) just for the experience and so I can breath more compressed air One nice thing is that we're going to do an extra dive and come away with the altitude diver adventure dive / specialty ticked off the list. Thanks for the tip on ... heating the suit. LOL 33 degrees? YIKES! Going second weekend in June, so I expect it will be likewise not very warm... brr... SO
