FemIce, I think you got the last available Givi plate. I was on the phone this morning with my friend Kostas and he told me he just run out of Givi plates. As a matter of fact the plate that fits the Givi/Kappa is the same as the one for H&B bars but the H&B need an extra mounting adapter which is of course included. He should have some more within a week or so.

Mip, I'm still waiting for the guy in charge of the spanish group buy to send me some instructions for mounting without crash bars. I'll post it once I get it. If I remember correctly you'd need the Suzuki plate but better to wait and see how easy it is.

There are also two sets of mounting instructions coming. The spanish group made a pdf with pictures but I'm waiting on the translation and the manufacturer has his own manual in the works.

By the way, he told me the Givis are back in stock, it's now the Motechs that are running low.

With the number of Vstroms 650 and 1k sold in the past few years, the manufacturer should send one to Suzuki and ask them to be a supplier.  They would get tons of orders, cos the price would go down, especially shipping costs.

1/2 an hour to fit - including removing the Pyramid Plastics belly pan.  Great fit, no pulling or pushing to align required.

I'm happy to tell you that the belly pan arrived on my door at 11:15 today.
Delivered by mail   Got the e-mail on monday that they shipped it, so this was fast.
I'm usually not home at that hour, but I was today because I have a cold.
Got much better instantly  

It looks good, feels solid and I can't wait to get it fitted to the bike.

That might take a week or two because of a busy schedule these days  

But I'll let you know when it is in place.

Not if you want a mess free zone.
Yes if you don't mind oil all over the place.

Easy enough to remove though.

There are three mounting points.
1.  Crash bars (mine are Givi)
2. RHS (sitting on bike) replacement bolt on exhaust
3. LHS  Fitting a small bracket with replacement bolt at bottom bolt of side stand switch.

If you right-click on the image displayed in the gallery and click "properties", you'll see the location of the photo. You need to select the entire URL, copy it (CTRL-C) and then paste it (CTRL-V) in the dialog box that you get with the "post image" button.

KildareMan, is your bike lowered a lot? Looks like fairly minimal ground clearance with the guard attached!

Yes I'm a bit short in the leg department.  Lowered front & rear by 25 of our metric millimeters or 1 of the old style inches.
Went for a "spirted" ride at lunch time today & the only way you're touching the pan down is to drop the Strom.

There's actually more room than the photo shows.  Was taken from above.

Thought I'd just go for Suzuki - but yours look as if they may actually ptotect stuff if you drop the bike.

(Suzuki guards look like they will do absolutely nothing but sit there - apart from supporting this nice new belly guard of course )

I believe those are Givis. Good choice and they should be cheaper than Suzukis.

Got it on (the belly pan   )this afternoon. Went pretty smooth. Had to fiddle some with the shifter side bracket, but I think I got it right. I'll check it against the instructions when they get posted. Man it looks nice!    It does "appear" to sit low, and reduce ground clearance - but I think the lowest point is still the exhaust collector pipe (just barely). I'll post pic's soon . . .

OK - 2 pic's are in the gallery, in apperance, under JB's Greek BP. I can't post them here - for some reason I don't get a "properties" choice in my drop down menu with right click.  BTW, upon closer inspection, the belly pan does sit a bit below (~ 1/3") the exhaust collector pipe -but that's probably a good thing.
